7. Author guidelines

Submission. All the submissions must be performed through the online Manuscript Tracking System only in the form of PDF or Word files. Only the authors of the paper are authorized to make a submission, and the submitting author takes responsibility for the article during the submission and peer review.

Proofreading and language editing. Although we highly encourage the publication of articles written in English, because of their higher online exposition, we also accept manuscripts that are written in Spanish. We count with our own proofreading and language editing service, which can be solicited HERE. Our service is able to correct articles in Spanish, proofread articles written in English and make Spanish to English translation. The use of our service does not warranty the acceptance of the article on our, or any other journal. In fact, the use of this service is recommended only after the acceptance of the article. If the reviewers suggest the proofreading of your article.

Terms of submission. Manuscripts must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and are only being considered by this journal. The submitting author (preferably the corresponding author) is responsible for ensuring that the article’s publication has been approved by all the other coauthors, although Revista de la Sociedad

Española de Beneficencia will not request proofs of coauthor approval. It is also the submitting author’s responsibility to ensure that the article has all necessary institutional approvals.

An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to the authors from the editorial office to establish the date of receipt. Further correspondence (an observations or acceptance letter) and galley proofs will be sent to the author(s) before publication, unless otherwise indicated. It is a condition of submission that the authors permit editing of the manuscript for readability, and to maintain the in house style of the journal.

Peer review. All submitted articles are subject to assessment and peer review to ensure editorial appropriateness and technical correctness. The chief Editor will first consider if the manuscript meets minimum editorial standards and fits within the scope of the journal. If an article complies, then the Editor will ideally solicit at least two external peer reviewers (whose identities will remain anonymous to the authors, and the identity of the authors will remain obscure to the reviewers) to assess the article before confirming a decision. Decisions to reject are at the discretion of the Editor.

The Editor is responsible to asses all the ethics, society and security-related concerns before submitting the article to the opinion of the reviewers.

Article processing charges. Revista de la Sociedad Española de Beneficencia is a journal that prides itself on the privilege of offering free publication for the authors as well as free access for the readers. This is a manifestation of our interest to provide benefits for humanity trough the diffusion of scientific and technical knowledge.

The journal is supported by donations, which can be generously deposited to our bank account

Article types. Revista de la Sociedad Española de Beneficencia will consider the publication of the following article types:

Research articles. These manuscripts describe how a research protocol was executed as well as the results of the study. Basic, applied and clinical studies (both prospective and retrospective) fall within this category, as well as systematic reviews and metanalysis.

Review articles. A review article provides a profound description of the published literature in a particular subject area, providing a novel standpoint on the managed topic.

Case reports. We do accept case report articles and case series on the understanding that they must provide some degree of innovation on the procedures for the diagnosis and/or management of the disease. We will be thankful for the submission of case reports that thoroughly analyze the laboratory, clinic, and image-derived data.

Technical notes. A technical note is derived from the thorough description of a proceeding. Surgery, diagnosis and medical treatment procedures are appropriate subjects for technical notes. On the basic and applied science aspect, all procedures to produce medically relevant products or services are also subjects for this kind of article.

A common template that authors can use as a guide for the structuring of their articles is included HEREIN.
